Sustainable Transformation: Chair event and book launch "Thriving"
After 35 years of the sustainability agenda, it is time to up the game again. Dr Wayne Visser will present his newest book #Thriving on Monday, 21st March.
In his book, Dr. Wayne talks about reaching a tipping point that could take us beyond merely surviving – which is the real meaning of #sustainable – to thriving, and aims for net positive impacts where nature, society and the economy not only endure, but regenerate and flourish.
The book launch will be combined with the chair event of our Sustainable Transformation Lab. There will be a panel discussion on “Thriving – the challenge to go beyond sustainable” with, among others, Jacques Vandermeiren from Port of Antwerp and Marie Delvaulx from The Shift Project.
In this invitation-only Chair event, we will explore, together with leaders of business and academia, why the shift from sustainability to thriving is so important. We will draw out the underlying scientific principles of thriving, spotlight innovations which show that thriving is possible, and unpack the business and societal challenges to making thriving a reality by 2030.
